A good way to wrap up the day would be to stop by Pandit Kulfi for some of their creamy-smooth treats.

    Today you start with a visit to North Jaipur, the fort-zone of Rajasthan's capital. Our driver will pick you up early in the morning (recommended 0730 hours) from your hotel for a guided sightseeing tour of Amer Fort. En route, there will be a photo-stop at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). The structure is actually a 5 storey facade of delicately carved windows which has become a landmark of Jaipur.

    Next, head to Amer Fort,the most popular attraction of the city. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a classic example of the synergy between Rajputana and Hindu architecture.

    Today after breakfast, you will be taken in a chauffeur driven car to the Chulgiri Jain Temple. This hill-top Jain temple is known for its serene atmosphere, beautiful marble statues, and is the best place to catch the sunrise in Jaipur. On your way back, visit the lush-green Sisodia Rani Palace Garden, built by Raja Sawai Jai Singh (founder of Jaipur) for his second queen.
    Later in the day visit the City Palace- a repository of Rajasthani artifacts and culture. It houses a remarkable collection of Rajasthani costumes, and armoury of Mughals and Rajputs, an art gallery, intricately designed carpets, royal paraphernalia and rare astronomical works. Next you proceed to the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar Observatory, a stone astrological and astronomical Observatory built in the 18th century. Known for its ingenuity, this scientific 'play-ground' paved the way for modern astronomy.

Make a pit-stop at the Ranthambore Fort, situated just outside Sawai Madhopur. It is known to be one of the strongest fortifications in India, and it has served as the seat of power for the likes of Prithviraj Chauhan, Allaudin Khilji and Rana Sangha. After exploring the fort, drive to your hotel inSawai Madhopur.

    Instead of heading straight to Sawai Madhopur, we recommend that you take a detour to Abhaneri. The village is popular for the Chand Baori, an ancient, 13-storeyed step well which featured in the movie "The Dark Knight Rises". To reach Abhaneri, drive down to Dausa, and proceed for another 35 km on NH 21. You are just 15 minutes away from Chand Baori now.

    Exit Ranthambore on SH 1 towards Indergarh where you should make a photo-stop at the Indergarh Fort. Follow the road till Kota, where you will switch to NH 27. 20 km further down, a left turn will take you to one of the most breath-taking views you have ever seen - the Garadia Mahadev Temple. It's a cliff-side view of the River Chambal (the largest tributary of the River Yamuna) which flows by the famous Shiva Temple.
    Chittorgarh is a 3-hour drive from here.

    Today, drive up to the hill-top fort complex of Chittor. The fort comprises a long list of World Heritage sites, the prominent ones being the Vijay Stambh, the Kirti Stambh, the Padmini Palace, Kumbha Palace, and the Rana Ratan Palace.
    The palace has a rich, and rather tragic history. Some of Rajasthan's traditions have emerged from within these walls, namely Jauhar (Royal ladies jump into the funeral pyre of their husbands in a group) and Purdah (ladies cover their faces in front of the men of the house).
    The fort is also the backdrop for the story of Allaudin Khilji wanting to get a glimpse of Rani Padmini, for which he eventually attacked Chittor.

    Udaipur, the City of Lakes is a quick drive from Chittorgarh, and what helps is that the slick, four-lane NH 27 that you will be driving today is an easy road to drive on. You should reach in time for lunch, for which, we suggest that you head to Krishna Dal Bati. This is the place to be if you want to gorge on this Rajasthani specialty.

    After a hearty lunch, proceed for a guided sightseeing tour of the gorgeous City Palace.It was commissioned by Maharana Udai Singh II (founder of Udaipur) in the 16th century and later rulers made their contributions to it. The palace located in the on the bank of Pichola Lake, is the highlight of the sightseeing of Udaipur. Your next stop Jagdish Temple is a short walk from the palace complex, and cannot take a car there. Dedicated to Lakshminarayan (Vishnu), this 17th century temple is renowned for its elaborate, hand-made sculpture work. After seeking your blessings at the Jagdish Temple, check into your hotel and settle in for the day.

    The rest of the evening is at leisure. We suggest that you drive to Udaipur's Shilpgram. It is a museum that brings together Rajasthan's rich and varied culture from all over the state. It also has shops selling clothes, decorations and handicrafts.
    Udaipur is also popular for its street-food, and for your fix of the local specialties, we suggest that you head to Sukhadia Circle. For those looking for a more upmarket pig-out spot, you must head to 1559 A.D. solely for their laalmaas, if not for anything else.

    Start early and drive up NH 58 to Nathdwara, famous for the Srinathji Temple. The shrine is believed to be where Lord Krishna manifests himself during the day. It is said that he goes back to Mathura at night.
    Your last stop for the trip - the Monsoon Palace - takes you back to Udaipur City. The 19th century palace is perched on the Aravali Hills and offers a splendid panoramic view of Lake Pichola. At the foot of the palace, there's also the Raja Sajjan Singh Sanctuary, which should be a treat for wildlife lovers.
