Few places are better to start your journey into God's own country than Munnar. The surrounding is serene, air crisp, and whether you want to take an arduous trek, walk through the quaint tea plantations, or simply kick back, you won't be disappointed.
We suggest that you start your day at the Lockhart Tea Factory for a guided tour of how your wake-up drink went from the fields to your cup. If you are in the mood for adventure, you could stop by the National Adventure Academy for some rock-climbing. Make a grub-stop at Raspy's (for Kerala Style Porottas and Biriyanis) or Saravana Bhavan (for traditional South-Indian fare).
Next, head to Echo Point; the view from here is completely worth the trek up. Besides the Carmelagiri Elephant Park is also on the way, which is a must visit for its Elephant Safaris if you're out with your little ones. Wildlife enthusiasts must head to the Eravikulam Natonal Park where you will find the Nilgiri Tahr, Nilgiri Marten and birds like White Bellied Shorting and Kerala Laughing Thrush. You could also visit Tata's Tea Museum, which is close to the National Park.
