  • Activities

Ride from the hotel in Mumbai to the hotel in Harihareshwar via Murud.

Pick up your motorcycle from the hotel and head out of Mumbai early in the morning to beat the traffic. Exit the city at Panvel and head to Alibagh, where you can make a pit- stop at the beach. Hereon, the sea will be your companion nearly all the way to Murud. You will pass the peaceful Kashid Beach, known for its crystal-clear waters. The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, home to leopards, barking deers, Indian giant squirrels, pythons and birds like the crested serpent eagles, too is close by. Your next stop is the Murud Janjira Fort, which is a short boat-ride away from the port-town of Murud. Although now in ruins, it once used to be a living fort with official quarters and mosques. To head further down the coast, get your motorcycle onto a ferry, which will drop you off at Dighi. Stop next at the Harihareshwar Beach which is popular for the namesake temple that's said to be blessed by Lord Shiva himself. You could stop at Hotel Amar known for its sea food, and then catch a ferry across the Savitri River. Next, we suggest that you make a pit-stop at the Fattegad Fort, rumoured to be built under the rule of Shivaji Maharaja. Continue your ride to the hotel in Harihareshwar.

    • Ride
    • Distance:350 km
    • Breakfast
    • Ride from the hotel in Harihareshwar to the hotel in Tarkarli.
    • Overnight in Tarkarli.

  • Transfers

Ride from the hotel in Harihareshwar to the hotel in Tarkarli.

Today's route snakes down the western-most part of Maharashtra, looking over the frothing Arabian Sea. The roads are slightly narrow and if you are here during the rains, slippery too, but fun nevertheless. The way is lined with forts - the Jaigarh Fort, Bhagwati Fort, the Vijaydurg Fort and the Devgad Fort in the same order and beaches that could rival anything that Goa has to offer. The religiously inclined have two major temples on the way, namely the Sapteshwar Mahadev Shiva Temple and the Ganpatipule Temple, where the statue of Lord Ganesha is believed to have risen from the soil 400 years ago.
It's worth noting that you are riding down the Ratnagiri belt which, in summers, means copious amounts of juicy alphonso mangoes. So don't fell shy about getting your hands down and pulpy! Also, don't forget to enjoy the delectable Malwani seafood the region has to offer. Check in to your hotel in Tarkarli and unwind for the day.

  • Day 5 Tarkali

    • Distance:180 km
    • Breakfast
    • Ride from the hotel in Tarkarli to the hotel in Goa.
    • Overnight in Goa.

  • Transfers

Ride from the hotel in Tarkarli to the hotel in Goa.

Like much of the roads until now, your route for the day is through narrow, single-lane, beach roads. The Vengurla Bandar, popular for the Devbagh Beach and the Mochemad Beach is your first major stop on your way to Goa. Further south, you'll pass the popular Tiracol Fort Heritage Hotel, and it's from here that you can catch a ferry to Querim, your last ferry transfer en route to Goa.
Stop next at the Chapora Fort, the one from the movie Dil Chahta Hai, where you've always wanted to watch the ship disappear into the horizon. Further down, pass the Arambol and the Arjuna Beach; stop by the latter at the Curlies Beach Shack for some delicious Goan fair. Your next stop is at Aguada Fort and lighthouse, a 17th century Portuguese fortification that was built to defend attacks by the Dutch and Maratha forces. With that, it's touchdown in Goa.

  • Day 6 Goa
    • Breakfast
    • Overnight in Goa.

  • Other Recommendation

The day is at leisure to explore the old parts of the beach town. The first order of the day is to visit the brilliant churches of Goa. Start out with the Baroq-style Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, followed by the Basilica of Bom Jesus (tomb of St. Francis Xavier), the Church of St. Francis of Assisi (known for its altar containing huge statues of the Saint and Jesus Christ), the Se Cathedral (housing the biggest bell in Goa) and the St. Cajetan Church, that is modelled after the St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

The party animals among you could head to one or many of the popular beach-side clubs that Goa is known for. The popular ones include Cohiba, the Slient Noise Club, Club Cubana, Tito's, and LPK Waterfront to name a few. Surely don't miss the full-moon parties at Colva beach if you are here anywhere around a full-moon night.

  • Day 7 Goa
    • Ride
    • Distance:60 km
    • Breakfast
    • Enjoy your ride to the splendid Dudhsagar Falls, followed by a visit to the Shanta Durga Temple.

  • Activities

Enjoy your ride to the splendid Dudhsagar Falls, followed by a visit to the Shanta Durga Temple.

Step away from the beach for the day and ride down to the spectacular Dudhsagar Falls, nestled between the states of Goa and Karnataka. The waterfall and popular picnic spot is also an excellent place for trekkers. Experienced ones should try the 14 km-long trek that starts from the Castle Rock Station in Karnataka. On your way back, pay a visit to the Shanta Durga Temple, dedicated to goddess Shantadurga, an avatar of Parvati. The goddess is believed to have quelled a fierce battle between Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

  • Other Recommendation

The rest of the day is at leisure to unwind.

  • Day 8 Goa
    • Breakfast
    • Overnight in Goa.

  • Other Recommendation

One of the best ways to spend your day at leisure is to head to South Goa, find a shack serving delicious grub, especially sea food, grab a beer and enjoy the sea, and today is for just that. We suggest that you head to Gaffinos or Johncy's for their sumptuous fair. Later in the evening, you could head out to the sea side for some good old beach football or beach volleyball.
